Personalized Songs for Valentine’s Day!

Give a personalized song for Valentine’s Day!

Once upon a time, there was a boy in my high school who had a crush on me. He was a nice guy, but I only liked him as a friend. To tell you the truth, I could hardly give him the time of day because I was too busy crushing on his best friend. Or perhaps I should say, the only reason I would give him the time of day was because I was crushing on his best friend! Ah, young love… Anyway, I felt bad for him, and went as far as trying to set him up with my best friend. That plan seemed like it was working until one day this young man visited my house for my birthday. I had just received my grandmother’s piano, but since I wasn’t into practicing back then, I had barely touched it.

During his visit, this young man gave me a birthday card which featured lyrics to a song that he had written just for me. He proceeded to sit at the piano, and played the most beautiful song that I had ever heard (it was about me, so obviously it was a wonderful song ;-) )

In a matter of moments, this personalized song won over me AND my mother who was eavesdropping nearby. After playing hard to get for months, I instantly had a change of heart, and became his girlfriend. I also had to break the news to my best friend, but that’s another blog post.

The lesson that I learned that day is how much power lives in a song that’s written for someone you love. If you’d like to give a special gift for Valentine’s Day that will be remembered always, how about a personalized song for your Valentine? Until February 11, 2011, I’ll be taking requests for personalized versions of my original song, Supernova for $150.00 USD.

Imagine your sweetie listening to a song with a verse that is personalized just for him or her! When placing your order, simply include info such as their name, nickname, interests, zodiac sign, special moments, etc, and I’ll rewrite a verse, and record it professionally. If you’re planning to propose, let me know that as well, and I’ll create an extra-special version of Supernova.

$150 includes a professionally recorded song with personalized CD label too! Click here to read and hear the original lyrics for Supernova, my cosmic love song.

If you’d prefer an original song written from scratch, the price is $500 USD, and I’d love to do that too. For more info, just email me at moxiemaven64 AT gmail DOT com or via my contact form

Personalized Valentine’s Songs Offered by the River Valley Harmonizers

February 6th, 2010 by Carla

WAUSAU, WI — For the past 12 years, the River Valley Harmonizers have been going out of their way to make Valentine’s Day special for local residents.

Rich Pijan, the group’s coordinator for the Singing Valentines, took a call last year from a man who wanted to order a singing valentine for his wife at the couple’s 10th anniversary banquet the weekend of Valentine’s Day.

A quartet had made an impromptu visit to their wedding reception in Mosinee 10 years before and the husband wanted to recreate the magic by having the Barbershoppers serenade his wife again.

A few days later, the man called Pijan and told him that his wife had suffered a stroke and the anniversary dinner had been canceled. He told Pijan to keep the $50.

“We got together and said, you know, it really is a shame she couldn’t get her valentine,” Pijan said.

A few hours later, the quartet arrived at Aspirus Wausau Hospital to sing “I Love You Truly” and two other songs for the woman and her husband.

It’s that kind of story that keeps the group of men going every year, Pijan said. The quartet delivers the special valentines with a rose and a handwritten card with a personalized sentiment.

Four quartets have signed up so far to deliver singing valentines Feb. 12 to 14 in the Wausau, Mosinee and Merrill areas. The singing valentines start at $30 and the money raised helps the group’s operating expenses.

Proceeds from the singing valentines go toward music scholarships at UWMC, buying music and repairing musical equipment.

February 1st, 2010 by Carla

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – For the 14th year, the Racing City Chorus of Saratoga Springs will dispatch tuxedo-clad quartets all over the Capital Region to deliver “Singing Valentines” — love songs, chocolates, a red rose and a personalized Valentine card.

The singing valentines, sung in four-part harmony, can be expanded to include more chocolates, more roses or both.

The packages will be available from Friday, Feb. 12, through Monday, Feb. 15, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., any place within Washington, Warren, Saratoga, Albany, Schenectady and Rensselaer counties — at offices, schools, restaurants, bowling alleys, hospitals, nursing homes — wherever loved ones can be found.

Jerry Crouth, chorus member and chairman of this event, has reduced the cost for the various package prices by about 10 percent.

“We always thought we were a bargain, but this year we aim to be more so because of the economy” Crouth said. “The chorus, a nonprofit group, has been delivering singing valentines as a fundraiser, with lots of repeat business and new-found followers every year.”

The songs, roses (from The Posie Peddler in Saratoga), and chocolates (from Saratoga Sweets in Clifton Park) make a wonderful Valentine.

Supernova by Carla Lynne Hall

A Cosmic Supernova

Supernova
Lyrics and music written by Carla Lynne Hall

I’m no Galileo, but I know what I find
A new discovery, so glad that it’s mine
It’s not a satellite invading my view
Out of the blue, the brightest star is you

Supernova, in the galaxy of you and me
Supernova, I can’t fight the laws of gravity

Brand new constellation you can see in the sky
A silly Capricorn, a sad Gemini
Don’t need a telescope, just your naked eye
Out of the blue, the brightest star is you

Supernova, in the galaxy of you and me
Supernova, I can’t fight the laws of gravity
How did our worlds collide in a thousand points of light?
You shine so bright, Supernova

There’s no other planet where I would like to be
Hope I do for you what I know you do for me
Thank my lucky stars in the heavens above
Your celestial body is all I’m dreaming of

Supernova, in the galaxy of you and me
Supernova, I can’t fight the laws of gravity
How did our worlds collide in a thousand points of light?
You shine so bright, Supernova
Super…….
